General Notes (Wife)

Lewis and Clara were twins. When the baby daughter was still nursing, Clara became ill and died of Uremic Poisoning. She is buried in the family plot in Rocky Ford, Colorado. Cemetery records from Valley View Cemetery, Rocky Ford, Colorado, indicate her burial date of Jan. 31, 1915 in Block 8A, Lot 8, Space F. This date of burial according to Della Graham, does not reflect the date of death. She said Joseph loved Clara so much that he did not bury her until the family put much pressure on him to do so. She said he went to see her body each day until she was buried.
