John was given a patent for 162.08 acres of land. This patent was issued on June 25, 1900. His land was located in El Paso County, Colorado. 28


General Notes (Wife)

On March 18, 1912 a homestead entry for 160 acres out of the Hugo Land Office was issued to Etta M. Kaufman.

On July 5, 1922 an application for 300 acres out of the Hugo Land Office was cancelled. The name on the application was Etta M. Mattics. These acres encompassed the same area issued earlier in 1912. 28
