General Notes (Husband)

Watt was moved after birth to the new boom town of Fowlerton Indiana where the discovery of natural gas had just been made One of the farms nearby was sometimes visited by the owner, Bishop Wright of Dayton, Ohio, who was pitied by everyone because of his "ne'er do well sons" Ovrille and Wilbur who insisted on trying to make a flying machine instead of tending to their bicycle business.

Watt attended Fairmount Academy with letters in track, baseball and basketball. The Academy was a private Quaker school. Here he met Doris Devine.

He served In WWI aboard the U.S. S. New York assigned to the British Grand Fleet in the North Sea. As a musician, he played for the King of England and the Prince of Wales, as well as the King and Queen of Belgium on the occasion of their official visits to the ship, which was the flagship of Admiral Rodman.

Watt and Doris served as delegates at the International Conference of Friends held in Philadelphia in 1937. 17
