Jonathan was a distinguished philosopher. He was nighted by King George III, and was given the title of Count Rumford by the King of Bavaria. A statue was erected to his memory in Munich. A replica of this statue stands in front of the Public Library in Woburn, erected by Mr. Marshall Tidd of Woburn, a Blodgett connection in the third generation.
