General Notes (Husband)
John and Mary marriage at Stafford is first mentioned by a minute entered by Hopewell Monthly Meeting dated 4/10/1776. It appears they were settled in the Shenandoah Valley of Northern Virginia as the next record is a Crooked Run Monthly Meeting minute dated 3/5/1789 transferring the membership of John and Mary Fallis and children; Miriam, Rachel, Elizabeth and Mary. This transfer was recorded by the Hopewell 5/10/1789 monthly meeting.
John and Mary with their children; Miriam, Rachael, Elizabeth, Mary, Jonathan and Isiah, joined the great Ohio migration around 1796 as evidenced by a minute of transfer from Hopewell date 5/2/1796 to the Redstone (Pennsylvania) Monthly Meeting which had jurisdiction over the newly settled Quaker colony in Clinton County, Ohio. This transfer was duly recorded by Redstone Monthly Meeting upon their arrival 12/30/1796.
John and Mary along with Exther, Amos and Sarah, their children born in Ohio, became charer members of the new Monthly Meeting established 7/1814.
